Aspect Ratios
Photographs in this collection were captured during multiple visits to Venice over several years, using different Canon camera models. When selecting multiple works for display together, please check the aspect ratio shown for each artwork.

Venice Observed | 2026

Venice Observed brings together a series of photographs made over several years, documenting the enduring character of Venice. Timothy Langton's collection explores the city's historic churches and architecture, the ever-changing life of the Grand Canal and lagoon, and the quieter details that define its identity, from weathered façades and Venetian street lamps to fleeting moments of everyday life.

Approaching Venice with the curiosity of a visual documentarian, Langton creates an enduring portrait of the city, preserving both its celebrated landmarks and its overlooked details.

Presented at larger scale, the works are conceived to command presence, allowing the architecture, atmosphere and character of Venice to unfold with greater impact.
