Between Us | 2026

A limited edition neon photographic collection by Yanjun Zhou, created using black light to explore intimacy, proximity, and the quiet tensions of emotional reflection.

"In nature, two fighting fish rarely coexist, often reacting even to their own mirrored image. At times, human relationships echo this instinct, lovers reflecting, resisting, and confronting themselves through one another.” – Yanjun Zhou

Through luminous colour and radiant light, Zhou captures this fragile equilibrium, inviting the viewer into a suspended moment where connection and distance coexist.

About

Yanjun Zhou

Yanjun Zhou is originally from Shanghai, China, and is a graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London.

Zhou is passionate about listening to people’s stories and re-telling them through her own lens, with a strong focus on emotion and the interplay of colour.

A nostalgic observer, she is drawn to film cameras and old photographs. In capturing historic and forgotten places, Zhou treats each image as a dialogue with the past, an attempt to allow viewers to experience the warmth of time and the echoes of memory.
