About

Timothy Langton

Hailing from the rugged Pennine region of West Yorkshire, England, and now based in the historic city of Cambridge, contemporary photographer Timothy Langton brings a cinematic sensibility to his still imagery, shaped by a background in film and television production.

His practice is characterised by a sensitive attention to overlooked details and the quiet poetry of everyday life, transforming familiar objects and fragments of the built environment into contemplative visual studies.

Langton’s photographic collection, I Believe in Your Eyes | 2025, draws inspiration from the visual language of Portuguese azulejos, the traditional hand-painted ceramic tiles found across Iberian architecture.

Working from his own photographic studies of these historic surfaces, he isolates fragments depicting angelic and cherubic faces, many weathered by time, erosion, or loss. Through this process of framing and recontextualisation, he transforms architectural ornament into intimate portraits marked by fracture, absence, and memory.
