Liquid photography

Situated within experimental photography and camera-based mixed media, Yanyi He’s practice combines material spontaneity with rigorous photographic control.

His process involves carefully composed interactions between pigment, colour ink, solid carbon dioxide (dry ice), and reactive materials, layered on glass plates. Under controlled conditions, these elements bloom, fracture, and transform, brief, unrepeatable performances shaped by physics and chance.

The final works are not digital constructions, but photographic records of real, ephemeral events: liquid and light suspended in motion.

Available to collectors in a limited edition release, Interstellar Dreams presents a rare and immersive encounter with the celestial unknown.
