Yanjun Zhou

Yanjun Zhou is a Shanghai-based contemporary photographer from China, and is a graduate of Goldsmiths School of Art, London. A nostalgic observer, she is drawn to film cameras and old photographs. In capturing historic and forgotten places, she treats each image as a dialogue with the past, an attempt to allow viewers to experience the warmth of time and the echoes of memory. Zhou is passionate about listening to people’s stories and re-telling them through her own lens, with a strong focus on emotion and the interplay of colour.
