Simon Lee Robson's new collection for 2025 reimagines the silent skulls of prehuman history as luminous icons of the present. Each work fuses the raw bone forms of our earliest ancestors with the electric glow of contemporary pop art, collapsing millions of years into a single, vivid moment.

Visual lineage

At the heart of the collection is the original painting, the pure, unlit ancestor, which leads to its negative (inverted) twin, and then to a series of vibrant neon cousins, each pulsing with its own colour and character.

Together, they form a visual lineage that bridges the ancient and the modern. These portraits are not just relics, they are beacons, inviting us to see the origins of humanity lit in a new and unforgettable light.
