Eikṓns marks the beginning of Simon Lee Robson’s exploration of Orthodox iconography, presenting a reverent collection of handmade Byzantine Greek and Russian Eastern Orthodox icons that blend sacred tradition with artisanal refinement.

These mixed-media originals honour the profound traditions of Orthodox Christian art while introducing a contemporary, artisanal sensibility.

Sacred focus

With Eikṓns, Robson focuses on the sacred, producing icons that reflect the profound depth and timelessness of Orthodox tradition.

Each handmade piece features a decoupage print on reclaimed wood and layered with subtle washes of egg tempera, stainers, varnish, and water lacquer.

Expertly distressed to evoke the gentle patina of aged sacred art, some icons are further enhanced by elegant gilt or natural wood frames, amplifying their devotional presence.

This meticulous devotion reflects Robson’s reverence for the sacred and enduring power of iconography.
